The LocalisationUpdate extension is now enabled for all Wikimedia projects. From now on new localisations that become available in SVN will become available to your project within *** hours. Your localisations get into SVN from [http://translatewiki.net translatewiki.net] typically within a day and at worst in two days. This is a huge improvement from the old practice where the localisations became available with new software. This could take weeks, even months.
When you localise at translatewiki.net, your messages will be used in all Wikimedia projects and eventually in all MediaWiki based projects. This is how we provide the standard support for your language. When messages change, at translatewiki.net you will be prompted to revisit your translations. Localising is more efficient because we have innovated the process to make you more efficient; there is text explaining about messages and we have applied AJAX technology to reduce the number of clicks you have to make.

We expect that with the implementation of LocalisationUpdate the usability of MediaWiki for your language will improve. We are now ready to look at other aspects of usability for your language as well. There are two questions we would like you to answer:

Does MediaWiki support your language properly
The best way to answer the first question is to visit the translatewiki.net. Change the language to your language, select the “vector” skin and add the advanced tool bar in in the preferences and check out the new functionality. And make some changes in your user page. When there is a need to improve on the localisation, please make the [http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=ext-ui-0-all necessary changes]s . It should update your localisation straight away.
We would like you to report each issue individually at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Usability_issues.
When there are problems with the support of MediaWiki for your language, we really want to know about this. It is best to report each issue separately. In this way there will be no large mass of issues to resolve but we can address each issue on its own. Consider issues with the display of characters, the presentation of your script, the position of the side bar, the combination of text with other languages, scripts. It is best to try this in an environment like the prototype wiki as it provides you with a clean, basic and up to date environment. The prototype wiki is available for five languages but you can select any of them, change the preferences to your language and test out MediaWiki for your language.

:::En atras wikis (a catalana, por exemplo) fan servir as categorías ocultas, que sirven ta trobar articlos con bellas caracteristicas con criterios no enciclopedicos. Ixa sería una posibilidat, pero no sé si ye una opción por defecto u caldría pedir que la activen ta ista wiki. Un atra posibiildat ye fer una categoría (que podría ir dentro d'una plantilla), y más enta debant se saca. ::::Ixe vinclo que sale alto con estatitisticas ya da bella orientación d'as nuevas dentradas, pero no sé si se podría conseguir bella cosa semellant: un listau (bell filtro?) d'articlos que no sigan en as categorías d'as atras grafías. Sobre correchir cosas, a verdat, ya tos lo podetz pensar que no adubo, pero si veigo qualcosa que no me quadra ya iré fendo... y que mientres nos entrenamos tamién ye difícil d'adaptar-se-ne. Un tema que no ha saliu por agora (podeba haber dentrau en grafía, pero se quedará ta lexicolochía) ye a vacilación de vocals atonas. Como aquí treballatz de recio y fetz parroquia, creigo que no ye un criterio "a forma diferent d'a castellana" que ha funcionau como tendencia pero que puede empentar-nos atra vegada enta un modelo lingüistico percutient. Si sabemos alzar un equilibro entre as formas mes espardidas, a historicidat y a etimolochía, ye mes fácil d'encertar. A mena d'eixemplo, si escribimos "egual", por muit meyeval que siga, sonará raro en qualsiquier variedat y a totz es parladors. == Categoría ocultas ==
Independientment de lo que se faiga sobre o tema anterior, ya he mirau cómo se puede fer ta tener categorías ocultas. A ideya ye fer-las servir ta todas as categorías no estrictament enciclopedicas (grafías, articlos que les falta o que siga, articlos d'a lista d'os 1000, destacaus, etc.). Ta convertir una categoría en oculta (por agora se claman amagatas, pero igual más enta debant lo cambio en translatewiki ta ocultas), nomás cal incluyir __HIDDENCAT__ en a categoría que queramos ocultar. Creigo que un usuario no rechistrau no las veyería. Amás he feito un cambio (copiau d'a wiki catalana, e istos copiaus d'a francesa) en common.js que permite que salga una cruceta a canto d'as categorías visible, y asinas un usuario rechistrau las puede fer visibles. Encara que levo bellas semanas sin editar guaire por aquí, os pocos ratos que he puesto quitar ta istos quefers, los he adedicau a cambiar totz os mensaches d'a interficie/interfaz t'a nueva ortografía. Creigo que iste cabo de semana ya s'ha esviellau a versión d'o software y que habrían de salir totz os menús y cadenas de texto de l'interfaz en a grafía nueva. Ola, he metiu l'articlo <nowiki>{{A Espuña}}</nowiki> en o parlaje de Baixo Peñas, y no he puesto meter-ie a plantilla güen, no sé porque no i sale como as demas tipo: "Iste articlo ye escrito en Belsetan".
